SuperAargau is a film project made up of home movies from everyday life in Aargau in the 20th century. It tells of a time when the beans were sowed during the "wet moon” in Villmergen, when the wainwright still pulled teeth in Oberkulm, when Lake Hallwil froze over and of when a stuntman raced through fire in front of the Tivoli in Spreitenbach. The Stapferhaus, in collaboration with the Aargau State Archives, found these captured scenes in the private archives of the Aargau locals and edited the best bits together to make a 90-minute film. To mark the 200th anniversary of Aargau, the Stapferhaus toured the canton with a mobile cinema for a whole summer and projected the film over 80 times, on village squares, in gymnasiums and community halls.
