It can set us free and tie us down. It is the measure of all things, but also not worth mentioning. We diligently save it and we throw it out the window, we idolize it and curse it: money can become anything. We have it in our hands.
We have it in our hands. And it has a firm hold on us and makes us face up to fundamental questions: What is money worth to us and what price do we pay for it?
The Stapferhaus asked various people these very questions, not only in the present but also throughout history. Over a period of 19 months, the exhibition MONEY finally put the big value questions to the visitors. They wandered through heaven on earth, swam in money and told us about their personal credo. At the end, they stood at the cash desk and decided for themselves how much the exhibition experience was worth to them. Various big names from the worlds of business, politics, science and religion were invited to take a stand on the pressing monetary issues of our time.
